Psst. Come Check This Out.
Next week is Premier Week for Stupid Sexy Privacy, so we've been a little quiet on the newsletter front.
I've also recorded a ton of interviews this week, so I wasn't able to post much.
In fact, as I write this, I still have one more interview left to record ...
Occasionally you may see a week where we go dark with the newsletter specifically.
It just means we're working on the show.
It also means we're updating older posts. For example, this one.
What Did We Change?
I added two things to this post that I think are worth pointing out:
- As much as I don't like AI (Chatbots, LLMs, ect.), I also know it has its uses. And lately I've been talking to a lot of people in America who's first language isn't English. It's Spanish. I don't speak Spanish. I wish I did. We also don't have a member of our team who speaks Spanish. So, until I can find a translator, I'm going to add a Spanish-language translation at the bottom of each post using AI. My hope is that it makes our privacy tips more accessible. Especially during a time where people could really use them. That said, I want to acknowledge up front that this is totally a budgetary decision, and as we grow, I hope to be able to pay someone to do what the AI is doing. As you're going to hear us say a lot, all because AI CAN do something doesn't mean you should use it to do that thing.

- I'm going to record audio versions of each Privacy Tip. There's no way for Stupid Sexy Privacy (the podcast) to feature all of them, so I've set up a mini-podcast called Privacy Tips with BJ Mendelson. You can subscribe to it here. These are, essentially, audio editions of the Privacy Tips you can find on this website. Each time I publish a new clip, I'll go back and update the original post with the podcast embedded in it. Eventually, there will be video too. That's a little further down the road. I don't have a great place to film in, honestly. So I'm still looking for a quiet, indoor location. As soon as I find one I'll let you know.
This is really in the weeds. I just want you to know how we work here. I'll publish a bunch of Privacy Tips, like say ten or so, then stop. Then I'll go back and update those posts with audio and then the Spanish translations, while taking notes of things I need to follow-up on.
For example, "How to Convert A Windows Computer to Ubuntu" is something I'm going to need to spend some time explaining later.
Anyway, I'm going to record our interview tomorrow, and then we'll be back next week with more Privacy Tips.
I'll also let you know at the bottom of each new post when an old one has been updated.
See you soon.
